DESCRIPTION:The music concert entitled “Notes of the Aegean” by the Hellenic Air Force Band will take place on Sunday\, June 8 at 8:30 p.m.\, with free admission\, at Milena Kontou Square near the Mytilene marina\, with the support of the Municipality. This is a series of concerts taking place as part of a tour of the border islands\, which began in Megisti a few days ago.  \nThe Hellenic Air Force Band was founded in 1947 and currently has 74 permanent members who form the band and the light orchestra. During its 78-year history\, the Hellenic Air Force Band has demonstrated a remarkable work both in the military and social fields\, offering a rich repertoire of all types of music\, presenting concerts at the Athens-Thessaloniki Concert Hall and in every corner of Greece and abroad.  \nThe light orchestra also has a very important work to demonstrate\, among other things\, by participating in events organized by institutions and other social organizations.

SUMMARY:Get together AVALANCHE CHALLENGE ΜΤΒ
DESCRIPTION:For the first time in Lesvos\, the AVALANCHE CHALLENGE MTB is being organized in the Amali area. Athletes will start from sea level\, aiming to reach the summit of Mount Amali. From the summit\, the timed AVALANCHE route will begin\, leading back down to the starting point. \nThe impressive group start from the summit of Amali will give athletes enough time to line up by the time they reach the entrance of the trail. Certainly\, overtaking on the trails will be challenging\, but there will be plenty of opportunities for passing on the forest roads between the trails. The finish will be at the same spot where we started in the morning\, at sea level. \nThe AVALANCHE CHALLENGE MTB AMALI\, taking place on April 26 and 27 on the Amali Peninsula\, is organized by the Lesvos Cycling Club and the Municipality of Mytilene\, with the support of the Natural History Museum. The technical advisor for the race is LESVOS RIDE. The start will be at the Kratigos small port at 9:00 AM. \nSCHEDULE \nThe Technical Briefing will take place on Friday\, April 25\, at 8:00 PM (location to be announced). \nOn the morning of Saturday\, April 26\, free practice sessions will be held. At 4:00 PM\, a prologue will take place at an as-yet undisclosed location to properly position the athletes for the start. The meeting point for the prologue will be announced on Saturday and sent via email to all participants. \nThe athlete participation fee is 30 euros. There will be no last-minute registrations. Participant numbers will be distributed at a location and time to be announced.

DESCRIPTION:On the afternoon of Holy Monday\, April 14\, 2025\, at 5:30 PM\, the traditional friendly football match will take place at the Mytilene Municipal Stadium between select veteran teams and Security Forces teams\, honoring the memory of Panagiotis Kymouris\, a member of the Hellenic Coast Guard\, who passed away suddenly in 2017.The match\, consisting of two 45-minute halves\, will feature mixed veteran teams from Lesvos\, Pallesviakos\, and Gera—Panagiotis’s hometown—as well as mixed teams from the Security Forces\, composed of members and former players from the Police\, Fire Department\, and Coast Guard.The organization of this friendly match began both to honor Panagiotis’s memory and to serve as a catalyst for the creation of the Hemodynamics Department at Mytilene Hospital.
