DESCRIPTION:The music concert entitled “Notes of the Aegean” by the Hellenic Air Force Band will take place on Sunday\, June 8 at 8:30 p.m.\, with free admission\, at Milena Kontou Square near the Mytilene marina\, with the support of the Municipality. This is a series of concerts taking place as part of a tour of the border islands\, which began in Megisti a few days ago.  \nThe Hellenic Air Force Band was founded in 1947 and currently has 74 permanent members who form the band and the light orchestra. During its 78-year history\, the Hellenic Air Force Band has demonstrated a remarkable work both in the military and social fields\, offering a rich repertoire of all types of music\, presenting concerts at the Athens-Thessaloniki Concert Hall and in every corner of Greece and abroad.  \nThe light orchestra also has a very important work to demonstrate\, among other things\, by participating in events organized by institutions and other social organizations.

DESCRIPTION:Our Association is organizing the Moria Run for the fifth consecutive year\, which will take place on Sunday\, June 15\, 2025\, in the beautiful village of Moria\, Lesvos.  \nYiannis passed away unexpectedly at the age of 30 in a car accident in August 2024\, leaving behind an irreplaceable void. This year’s event stands as a small tribute to his memory and contribution.The aim of the event is to promote the spirit of sportsmanship\, inviting members of the Association\, runners\, and citizens of all ages to participate in a shared athletic activity. At the same time\, we seek to highlight the picturesque village of Moria and the Roman Aqueduct — one of the region’s most significant historical landmarks.    \nThe starting and finishing point of the race will be outside the Church of Saint Basil in Moria (near the community office). SUMMARY:3rd Mytilene Night Run
DESCRIPTION:The Mytilene Night Run will be held for the third consecutive year on the evening of Saturday\, July 12\, 2025. \nIt includes a 10\,000-meter and a 5\,000-meter race\, as well as a 1\,000-meter children’s race for kids aged 12 to 14. The start and finish will be in the Tsamakia area. The 5\,000 and 10\,000-meter route. It follows the pedestrian path in Tsamakia toward Kato Kastro\, continues along the coastal road in Epano Skala in front of the Statue of the Asia Minor Mother\, up to the Kalamari factory\, where the turnaround point is located. \nIt returns along the Epano Skala waterfront and continues to the right through the Central Market until the old Town Hall\, where it turns left toward the Promenade. It follows the Promenade along the sidewalk around the main port toward the BLUE SEA hotel and ends at the starting point. At this point\, the five-kilometer race is completed\, while the ten-kilometer race involves one more repetition of the above route. \nThe one-kilometer children’s race will take place along the ‘Tsamakia’ pedestrian path for 500 meters\, followed by a turnaround and finish at the starting point. The route has been chosen in such a way as to pass through notable landmarks of historical and cultural interest in the city. \nThe race is open to everyone and aims to promote mass participation in sports as a means of physical and mental well-being.

DESCRIPTION:The Municipal Choir of Mytilene “Nikos Myrogiannis\,” under the auspices of the Municipality of Mytilene\, is organizing a Four-Day Creative Workshop on Vocal Exploration and Choral Practice as part of the pre-festival educational programs of the 2nd Summer Music Festival of the Municipality of Mytilene. The workshop will be led by composer Nikos Kypourgos\, conductor Rozi Mastrosavva\, and musician-director Thodoris Abazis. \nThe workshop will include vocal exploration games and exercises\, as well as choral practice based on a specific Greek repertoire. This repertoire will be sent to the group leaders as soon as the registration process is completed at the end of May. The final day of the workshop will be open to friends and family who wish to attend as an audience. Details regarding the daily schedule of the workshop will be announced after the submission of registrations. \nRegistrations for group participation must be submitted by May 30\, 2025\, to the conductor of the Municipal Choir:\nMariza Vamvouklis at the email: marizavam@gmail.com \nEach group leader needs to provide the following information:\nThe exact number of participants in their group.\nThe full name of each participant. \nIt is recommended that conductors teach the choral pieces to their groups in advance and distribute photocopies of the music sheets to their choristers. This will allow the workshop to focus on expressive details and the interpretation of the songs rather than note-learning.
