DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, March 28\, the Phase A School Track and Field Competitions for General and Vocational High Schools will take place at the Mytilene Municipal Stadium\, with the participation of all registered schools. \nAll schools in Lesvos with students born in 2007\, 2008\, and 2009 are eligible to participate. \nThe events for boys include: 100m\, 200m\, 400m\, 800m\, 1500m\, 3000m\, 110m hurdles\, 400m hurdles\, and 2000m steeplechase. \nFor the jumping events: Long jump\, High jump\, Triple jump.For the throwing events: Shot put\, Discus\, Javelin.Additionally\, the 10\,000-meter race walk is included. \nThe events for girls include: 100m\, 200m\, 400m\, 800m\, 1500m\, 3000m\, 100m hurdles\, 400m hurdles\, and 2000m steeplechase running events. \nJumps: Long jump\, High jump\, Triple jump. \nThrows: Shot put\, Discus\, Javelin\, Hammer throw\, and 5000m race walk. \nSince these competitions are national in scope\, athletes who meet the qualifying standards in Phase A will advance to Phase B\, which takes place in Attica. These competitions are organized by the Directorate of Physical Education of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs (Y.PAI.TH.A.).

Additional related competitions organized by EAS SEGAS Lesvos will follow throughout the year\, taking place at the stadiums of Lesvos and Limnos.

SUMMARY:OCTOPUS MINIBASKETBALL PROGRAMME’ ISLAND PROJECT
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Hellenic Basketball Federation’s “OCTOPUS MINIBASKETBALL PROGRAMME\,” the Islands Project will be implemented over a period of three days. This specific program includes a series of activities and events aimed at children aged 4 to 14. The main activities of the Islands Project are as follows: \n• MiniHoops \n• FunBasket Festival \n• School Programs \n• Blue and White stars Camp \nThe OCTOPUS FUNBASKET FESTIVAL and MINIHOOPS are unique basketball events for children aged 4–8 and 9–12 respectively\, combining fun\, play\, friendly competition\, and the development of motor skills. Our philosophy is to promote and develop basketball through play and fun. \nOur goals are: \n• To encourage young children aged 4–8 to get introduced to the sport of basketball. \n• To create the right environment and conditions for children’s active participation. \n• To cultivate individual skills and foster teamwork among children. \n• To build relationships between local clubs to support similar initiatives. \n• To offer a memorable experience to young athletes. \n• To promote the sport of basketball as a way of life. \nSCHOOL PROGRAMSThe athletic educational programs of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (EOK) are implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs\, the Regional Basketball Associations and Local Committees of the Federation\, the Physical Education Offices of the Education Directorates\, as well as with the support of the respective municipalities. The aim of the Hellenic Basketball Federation is for students to become familiar with the Olympic Values and Athletic Ideals. The goal of the athletic educational programs is\, through a specially designed set of exercises that promotes gender equality\, to introduce children aged 4–14 to the sport of basketball\, while also encouraging them to engage with topics such as life skills\, nutrition\, psychology\, and a wide range of other social messages. These programs are implemented by academic\, federal\, regional\, and local coaches\, as well as coaches from basketball clubs. \nPurposeThrough proper guidance\, our goal is for young students to develop a love for the sport of basketball\, acquire appropriate basketball training both inside and outside the school environment\, and cultivate the right mindset required for a team sport. By primarily using physical activities\, the aim is to foster the psychomotor\, emotional\, and cognitive development of students and to support their harmonious integration into society. DESCRIPTION:On the afternoon of Holy Monday\, April 14\, 2025\, at 5:30 PM\, the traditional friendly football match will take place at the Mytilene Municipal Stadium between select veteran teams and Security Forces teams\, honoring the memory of Panagiotis Kymouris\, a member of the Hellenic Coast Guard\, who passed away suddenly in 2017.The match\, consisting of two 45-minute halves\, will feature mixed veteran teams from Lesvos\, Pallesviakos\, and Gera—Panagiotis’s hometown—as well as mixed teams from the Security Forces\, composed of members and former players from the Police\, Fire Department\, and Coast Guard.The organization of this friendly match began both to honor Panagiotis’s memory and to serve as a catalyst for the creation of the Hemodynamics Department at Mytilene Hospital.

DESCRIPTION:In the context of the Holy Week and the Divine Drama\, a high level musical event is organized where the Divine Drama is depicted through a poetic collection “ode”\, to the grief of the mother\, who is confronted with the loss of her son and this is depicted through the most important works of the great Greek poet Yannis Ritsos “Epitaph” and brought to life through the music of our great composer Mikis Theodorakis. \nThe event features the renowned performer Fotini Dara\, the actress Panagiota Vladi\, the Mytilene Polyphonic Choir\, choirs from the Municipality of Mytilene and a 12-piece orchestra.
