The notebooks of Angèle Courtian

April 8 | 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

It is a performance of historical interest, which speaks about the Armenian genocide in 1915 and the timeless drama of the war, through the eyes of a woman who experienced refugeeism.

The performance brings to the viewer the compelling testimony of Anjel Kourtian from her book of the same name, an Armenian woman who now lives in Greece and years after being uprooted from her homeland, recounts the journey of the persecution of her family and her entire nation. From Prusa and the Armenian Genocide to Smyrna and the Asia Minor Catastrophe and from there to Crete and Kokkinia, the heroine shares her story as she lived it as a child and through her eyes the fear of war, the refugee experience, but also the joys, the laughter, the music and the songs that marked her life are reflected.
