“Images and words that break the silence” is the title of the event organized on Wednesday, November 26, at 20:00 at the Municipal Theater by the Equality Committee of the Municipality of Mytilene, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, as part of the initiatives undertaken to highlight important social issues.

The event includes presentations, the dramatization of poems by the students of the “paspARTou Youth” Theater Workshop under the general title “Breaking the Silence,” and songs performed by the Animato Youth & Voices choir. It will also feature the awarding of students from Secondary Education for their participation in the photography and video competition titled “Images and words that break the silence.”

One day earlier, on Tuesday, November 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Women’s Shelter of the Municipality of Mytilene is organizing an information and awareness-raising activity in the courtyard of the Municipal Theater of Mytilene. During the activity, informational material will be distributed, and at the same time, through a participatory exercise, citizens will have the opportunity to record their own awareness messages on specially prepared cards.

These messages will be displayed on Wednesday from 18:30 in the foyer of the Municipal Theater of Mytilene, as part of the Municipality’s main event.
