Our Association is organizing the Moria Run for the fifth consecutive year, which will take place on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in the beautiful village of Moria, Lesvos.

Yiannis passed away unexpectedly at the age of 30 in a car accident in August 2024, leaving behind an irreplaceable void. This year’s event stands as a small tribute to his memory and contribution.
The aim of the event is to promote the spirit of sportsmanship, inviting members of the Association, runners, and citizens of all ages to participate in a shared athletic activity. At the same time, we seek to highlight the picturesque village of Moria and the Roman Aqueduct — one of the region’s most significant historical landmarks.

The starting and finishing point of the race will be outside the Church of Saint Basil in Moria (near the community office). The race routes for this year are as follows:

Children’s Route – 1.1 km
Asphalt road within the village of Moria.
Participation: Free of charge

short Route – 5.7 km
Asphalt road around the perimeter of the village.
Participation Fee: €8

Long Route – 11.8 km
7.9 km of asphalt road around the perimeter of the village,
2 km of cement road through the olive grove of Moria and the Roman Aqueduct,
and 1.9 km of dirt road crossing the olive grove of Moria.

Participation Fee: €10
All participants will receive a race pack including a sports T-shirt and products provided by our Association, as well as commemorative participation medals.
The proceeds from the race will be donated to a public-benefit or charitable cause, in memory of the late Yiannis Evangelou.
To ensure the smooth organization of the event, a participant limit will be set.

Interested participants are kindly requested to submit their registration by June 5, 2025, at 23:59 via the designated forms.
After this date, the distribution of the sports T-shirt cannot be guaranteed.
The event is co-organized by the Region of North Aegean, the Municipality of Mytilene, and the Union of Officers of the Hellenic Police – North Aegean Division.
