The 22nd Chestnut Festival will take place in Agiasos on Sunday 1 November.

Program:

​ 10:30 Lighting of the traditional stoves. Throughout the festival, 700 kg of roasted chestnuts will be offered for free to friends and visitors of Agiasos, at central locations of the village: Town Hall Square, Market Square, Stavri, and Kampoudi.
​ 11:00 Walking route in the chestnut forest. Guided tour by Mr. Panagiotis Koutskoudis and presentation of the special features of Agiasos’ nature. Departure point: Town Hall Square. Route: Town Hall Square – Apesos – Bitzilia – Valanos – Poles – Folidí – Panagia’s Garden.
​ 11:30–14:00 Painting exhibition, in the foyer of the Agiasos Anagnostirio, by the Children’s and Adolescent Art Painting Department of the Agiasos Anagnostirio.
​ The KOINSEP “GEUSEIS AGIASOU” (women’s cooperative) will offer chestnut-based sweets outside its shop, prepared according to old traditional recipes of the village.
​ 12:00–13:00 The “SOUSAMLIS” bakery will prepare chestnut sweets and offer them for free at the entrance of its shop.​ 13:00–14:30 “Loukoumades tis Diamantos” will offer free loukoumades with chestnut puree in front of their shop.​ VisitAgiasos, at its headquarters in the Municipal Park, will implement the following workshops: “We embroider the chestnut leaf”: creative embroidery workshop on handmade recycled paper, “Sweet touches with autumn fruits of Agiasos” children’s confectionery workshop with the autumn products of our village, guided by E. Koumarela and M. Xenitelli, “Chestnut becomes beer” Acquaintance with LoChes chestnut beer from Pinios Brewery with a short video of the process, AlleyDog will offer a treat with “teased kainaria”, OxygenAcademy – Recreational games for children. At the same time, a thematic photo booth .
​ 12:30 The santouri instruments of the Agiasos Anagnostirio will keep us musical company in the central square of Agiasos. The event will be framed by the children’s dance group of the Anagnostirio.
​ 14:00 The Association of Peloponnesians of Lesbos “O Morias” will present traditional dances at the Town Hall Square, where the celebration will continue. Free offers throughout the festival
